We also got an MRI of the spine to look for possible tethering. The MRI ends up being inconclusive whether it is actually tethered or another issue. The neurosurgeon feels surgery is too risky due to the shunt getting infected, so they want to wait to make sure. We are researching a few other things and getting more opinions.
